HISTORY

QUALITY

GEnderens TRansport Onderneming was founded on March 1, 1951. The initial inventory consisted of four vehicles, which were used for activities such as moving house and for the transport of concrete products for the former concrete company Alb. van Bodegom.
The first low-loader trucks were introduced in 1953, Heiwerken Herrewijnen being one of the first clients for whom they were used.

Three years later, the company extended its activities to the sale of sand and gravel, this part of the business being subsequently sold in 1960. During the same year, the company commenced the transport of Carbon Black, some of which was exported, this marking the birth of international transport for the company.

Activities were replaced by others. Thus, home removal ceased when the first vehicles for transporting Carbon Black in bulk arrived. The first tipper trucks with hydraulic systems were introduced in 1965.
Parallel to this development, the heavy transport service has experienced considerable growth up to and including the present time. Getron has road transport vehicles available with a capacity of up to eighty-five tonnes.
Storage and transhipment activities have also progressed at a rapid rate, forming a part of Gifa b.v. today.

Quality Management

The know-how that is required to control the administrative formalities of such transport is as important as the transport itself. In this regard, we have qualified personnel to conduct our business within the framework of the law. In order to carry out such diverse activities a reliable system of quality control is absolutely essential.

We were the first transport company in the Netherlands to implement a quality control system conforming to the standard ISO 9001:2000. In 2005 Getron Transport bv received the SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment System) certificate from BVQI.
